SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIP 2011

CHAMPIONSHIP IN ATLANTIC CITY, NJ

AUGUST 2011!

Rhythms in Dance competition is proud to announce its’ CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITION!

If you competed at a regional event in 2011, you are eligible to compete in our Championship event. In addition to our usual adjudications and high score awards, we will also be holding a TITLE event in which any solo that scored a gold or platinum in a regional competition may compete for the title of PEE-WEE, JR, or SR. Mr./Miss Rhythm. This will be on its’ own special evening during our Championship weekend.

Rhythms in Dance will conclude its’ weekend of Championship Competition with “THE FINAL DANCE”. The RHYTHM DANCERS (who have been chosen from our regional events) will perform an opening number which they will have learned during the weekend with our choreographers. The numbers which will compete in “THE FINAL DANCE” will be the TOP 3 Groups, Lines, and Productions in all three age divisions PLUS 1 number from each age division that will be “Judge’s Choice”. The winner will be the DIAMOND Award Winner for our Championship 2011!

Please look over all of the information for the Championship (which will be located at our Welcome Booth or you can ask your teacher). We hope to be able to get it up and running for 2011. Our deadline for registrations will be July 1, 2011. If for some reason you will be attending but have an issue getting in your entries by July 1^st, feel free to contact us at Rhythms in Dance and let us know. This is a crucial season for us, and we hope that we have your support as we enter into our FIRST ANNUAL CHAMPIONSHIP!

IN ADDITION, RHYTHMS IN DANCE WILL MAKE YOUR WEEKEND IN ATLANTIC CITY, NJ ONE TO REMEMBER! THERE WILL BE A WELCOME PARTY, CLASSES FOR DANCERS, AND OTHER SPECIAL EVENTS DURING THE COMPETITION WEEKEND! PLEASE JOIN US AT OUR SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIP 2011!

Title Competition

If a solo received a gold or platinum in a regional competition, they are eligible to enter the title competition.

Titles will be given out to the following:

Pee-Wee Miss/Mr. Rhythm

JR Miss/Mr. Rhythm

SR Miss/Mr. Rhythm

Championship Cash Awards

Solo Pee-Wee/JR/SR……………………..50.00

Duet/Trio Pee-Wee/JR/SR…………..50.00

Grp/Line/Production Pee-Wee/JR/SR…100.00

*Cash Awards in Tap, Jazz, Lyrical/Ballet/Modern & Hip Hop.

Must be 5 entries in each category/division to receive cash award.

All Special Awards, Entertainment Award, Technique Award, Choreography Award, $ Music Video Award remain the same.

The Final Dance

At the Final awards of regular competition, the 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place high scores in the Grp/Line/Prod category in each age division throughout the entire competition will be announced. They will re-compete on the following day for the Championship DIAMOND Award. (Note: Each studio may only have 1 top scoring number compete in each age division/category. This gives more opportunity for other studios to compete at the Final Dance.) THE OPENING NUMBER OF THIS EVENT WILL BE DANCED BY THE RHYTHM DANCERS WHO WERE CHOSEN AT OUR REGIONAL EVENTS THROUGHOUT OUR REGULAR SEASON! In addition, our judges will pick 1 number from each age division NOT in the top 3 to also compete as the JUDGE’s CHOICE. This may be based on performance value, entertainment, audience pleaser, etc. The top 3 scoring routines from each age division will be announced and will receive trophies. The overall top score from ALL numbers in the Final Dance will receive the CHAMPIONSHIP DIAMOND AWARD along with 200.00 cash and 100.00 GC to Rhythms in Dance Regional Competition. NEW JUDGES WILL BE JUDGING TITLE COMPETITION AND FINAL DANCE COMPETITION.
